Arts Gen Studio, Footscray Community Arts

What dish reminds you of home? Is there a recipe you’ve called your mum or dad for over and over again? Or a meal that you’re craving to make, if only you could get the ingredients here?
Join artist and designer, Steph Ochona, in a zine-making workshop exploring the multifaceted aspects of food, its role in our lives, and the intrinsic link food has to our culture, identity, history, and values. Over the course of this 2-hour workshop you will learn a series of zine-making techniques and go home with a handmade zine that you can keep, share with friends, or with your community.
Adults of all ages, backgrounds, and experience welcome. No prior zine-making experience is necessary. Materials and snacks provided.
This workshop is facilitated as part of I fear for my books, a collection of texts centring Filipino authors and curated by Saluhan Collective for SHELF – a community library and learning site that supports re-gathering of communities in partnership with Arts Gen.
Presented as part of Melbourne Art Book Fair (MABF).
